Built to be usable by everyone.

What we have actually built into this site, where we know the gaps are, and how to reach a person if something stands in your way.

01

What we are aiming for

We build this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, level AA. We treat that as the standard to meet rather than a badge to display, and we have not had an independent audit, so we describe below what we have actually done.

02

What is in place

Every page has one main heading and a heading order you can navigate by. Every image carries a text alternative that describes the work rather than repeating the page. A skip link jumps straight to the main content, and interactive elements show a visible gold focus ring when you move through them by keyboard.

Buttons and links are sized for touch, with a comfortable tap area on phones even where the link itself is a single line of text. Text sits on the warm ivory and espresso palette at sizes and contrasts meant to stay readable, and the layout reflows without sideways scrolling down to small phone widths.

The site works without JavaScript for reading and navigating, and it respects your system setting if you have asked for reduced motion.

03

Where we know there are gaps

Our booking widget is provided by Meevo and runs inside a frame on our booking page. We do not control its markup, so we cannot guarantee its accessibility. The same is true of the embedded Google map on our contact page.

If either one gets in your way, call the salon and we will book you or give you directions directly. That route is always open and never worse than booking online.

04

In the salon

If you need step-free access, extra room at a station, a quieter appointment, more time, or a companion with you, call 201-366-6639 before you come and we will arrange it. We would rather plan it with you in advance than have you arrive and find something in the way.

05

Tell us what is wrong

If part of this site or the salon is difficult to use, we want to hear it, including which page and what happened. Email ridgewoodnailclub@gmail.com or call 201-366-6639.

We aim to respond within two business days, and we will tell you what we can fix and when.
